2 Things I love Broccoli and Alfredo. So what better holiday meal to make than a Broccoli Alfredo dish. Use it as a main dish or a side dish.  I love this so much I thought I would post it for all of you who might want to make it as part of your holiday meal. So here is the recipe and ingredients . let me know if you make this and how it turned out and what you thought of the dish.

Broccoli Alfredo


Ingredients
1 tablespoon salt
1/2 Cup hot water
1/2 1-pound box dry fettuccine
4 cups broccoli florets
3 1/2 tablespoons butter
3/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1 1/4 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
Directions
Place the salt in a large pot of water and bring to a boil.
Add the fettuccine and cook according to the package directions for al dente. During the last 3-4 minutes, add the broccoli. Drain. Set aside.
Place the butter in the pot, reduce heat to medium-low, and stir until melted.
Add ½ cup of hot water. Stir in half of the Parmesan. Add the fettuccine and broccoli and the cayenne and nutmeg, if using. Toss.
Remove from heat and sprinkle with remaining Parmesan and the pepper. Toss again, adding more pasta water if the pasta is too sticky.
Serve in bowls and sprinkle with additional Parmesan if desired.
