The 3 F's

Here are some really interesting things to know about food.

Fun Food Facts

1. Coffee And Salt
Add a touch of salt to coffee to heighten the flavor – this is a very common use of salt as it is used in virtually all dishes (including sweet dishes served for pudding). Just a pinch is enough to make a brilliant espresso

2. There are 1200 varieties of watermelon.

3. Coconut water can be used in emergencies as a substitute for blood plasma.
Why? Because the coconut water -the water found in coconuts – not coconut milk- which comes from the flesh of the coconut- is sterile and has an ideal pH level. Coconut water is liquid endosperm – it surrounds the embryo and provides nutrition.

4. Did you know that Pringles really aren't Potato Chips
They were originally called Pringles Newfangled Potato Chips but only 42% is actually potato based. Most is wheat starch and other types of flour including corn and rice. The FDA made them change the name. They changed it to Potato Crisps which got them in trouble with the United Kingdom.

5. If you put a tooth in a glass of coke overnight, the sugar in the drink will make the tooth completely dissolve.
