Natural Remedies for Itchy and Irritated Skin

When it comes to exercising some of  us tend to like to do so outside. But with the outdoors also comes things like allergies, dry skin, rashes, poison ivy, and bug bites. So I've listed 4 fast acting, proven
home remedies to help with this problem.These remedies don’t only work for bug bites but can be used to alleviate a variety of skin complaints: rashes, poison ivy, eczema and other itchy skin problems. 
NOTE: A good rule of thumb is , if you can't eat it, don't put it on your skin.


1. Apple cider vinegar is an effective antiseptic, anti-fungal and anti-bacterial agent that relieves itching. 
Just put a few drops of it onto a cotton ball and dab it on to the affected area. Use raw, organic, apple cider vinegar.

2. Peppermint Leaves provides a cooling sensation 
crush up the leaves and rub the peppermint directly onto the skin.

3. Fresh Basil Leaves Basil leaves contains anti-itch compounds called camphor and thymol. Quick, easy and great for bug bites.

4.Oatmeal Oatmeal contains compounds called avenanthramides that reduce inflammation..
o make an oatmeal poultice, add a bit of water to a cup of plain,uncooked oatmeal. let it sit for a few minutes and apply the paste to the itchy area .
