Want a healthy way to start your day! One that's full of vitamins and antioxidants. Drink a delicious tasting smoothie.
If you don't care for yogurt or don't have any on hand, You can make your smoothie without yogurt. You can replace it with an extra banana or two, more half-and-half, or use heavy cream to get the thickness and creaminess you desire.
Smoothie Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup each frozen berries (I use blackberries, strawberries and raspberries)
- 1 cup plain greek yogurt
- 1 banana
- 2 large handfuls of fresh spinach
- 2 TBSP chia seeds (Chia seeds are full of fiber and expand when combined with your smoothie ingredients and creates a thicker smoothie.)
- 3.4 cup half-and-half (you could also use regular milk instead)
- If you need your smoothie sweeter, add something like a tbsp of honey, sugar, or any other sweetener you would like.
- Use ice if your fruit is not frozen-Omit the ice if using frozen fruit
Instructions:
Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend till smooth and creamy on smoothie setting.
If the yogurt is too thick, you can adjust the milk. If it needs to be thickened, add more yogurt.
You can also top these with toasted oats, or granola. Very delicious!
