Coffee Break - Gratitude's Positives And Negatives

Happy Sabbath Everyone.
May you have a blessed and restful one.

Sometimes gratitude can seem like a chore. It's sometimes really hard to do.
It can be hard when you're in pain, have lost a loved one, or struggling to make ends meet.
But that is exactly when you should be grateful. Gratitude is Being thankful, which can improve your mental health, and helps you cope better with everyday stress.

A biblical view of gratitude.
The Bible has a lot to say about thankfulness. Giving thanks to God is mentioned in the Bible, and failure to do so is part of the basis for God's judgment against mankind (Romans 1:21).
(1st Thessalonians 5:16–18) says, "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."

Did You Know That:
  • Gratitude glorifies God
  • Brings peace
  • draws us closer to God
  • deepens our faith
  • and brings contentment
Gratitude helps us experience more positive emotions such as
  1. optimism
  2. enthusiasm
  3. joy, and happiness
Gratitude can also keep us from destructive emotions such as,
  1. envy
  2. greed
  3. bitterness
  4. resentment
Do you have a grateful heart? What are you grateful for today?
