5. Eat foods with a low glycemic index. Foods with a low glycemic index include whole grains, high-fiber vegetables, nuts, and healthy oils such as olive oil.
 

6. Avoid smoking - The nicotine in tobacco is a stimulant, it speeds the heart rate, will also raise blood pressure, and stimulate brain-wave activity. Which is also associated with wakefulness, making it a lot harder to fall asleep.
